Thanks. @#3 The Enterprise never has it's impulse lights on. Here's the origional shot showing it. http://tng.trekcore.com/gallery/albums/s2/2x13/timesquared270.jpg Also note that the angle on mine isn't cannon but myself I think it looks better. Also some credit must go to BonesMcCoy since he created the background using images I gave him.

Please! Stop complaining about impulse lights and just watch some TNG.
I'm just astonished that this keeps coming up...

Incredible pic...Good Job Luke....

The only time the saucer impulse engines shoul be active is when the vessel is operating in Separated Flight Mode. Otherwise, they're not activated because the impulse engine on the spine of the engineering hull's neck is powerful enough to move the vessel on its own.

Plus, the non-TNG Technical Manual would probably be that it's cheaper to light one engine for TV than three. ;P

Wow, this does look better than canon. That vortex is sweet. Rock If this was ever added to BC, I'd die of excitement. 10/10

Not meaning to say it's done exactly the same because, as Lukerobin said, he didn't want to. But it's close enough for me to see this a faithful recreation done in a little better way, perhaps. I'd like to see some of the blue glow reflecting on the Enterprise's hull, but I guess that because of some of the strictest PotD rules here (and I'm not complaining, just noting) it can't be helped and thus wouldn't count as a serious contradiction.

Rating: 9/10 - It's not perfect even if setting aside one possible fault, but what Potd is? Nevertheless it's another great PotD and one of the few recent ones I would hold as a favorite for this year thus far.

I remember this episode. "The cycle must end" Very realistic recreation. Did make it using a modified slipstream, or another photo editor?

Thanks all for the great comments.
@#14: I might actually try doing this again and add some blue glow to the textures of the ship. That way it would be a 100% BC screenshot.

@#20: Well it's a modified slipstream that, i'm guessing, was made in photoshop. If you want to know more about it and how to use it just go here http://bc-central.com/forums/index.php?topic=1433.360

@#17: I would be honoured to do this again with your Galaxy. It is looking more and more awsome every day.

BTW: @#3,6,7 i'm pretty sure that the only Galaxy's with the impulse on are the Venture refits or when a normal one has seperated it's saucer.

I think this is a great recreation, in fact I prefer the look of it with the angle of the enterprise than the original

Wow thanks #23,24,25,26. I've got another one which is from the front of the ship that I actually think is better. Hopefully that'll become POTD soon.
