Replicators are like the borg in that they take over a ship and assimilate its technology, however, as was eventully agreed (by most) on the last replicator themed pic, the replicators are far superior to the borg. Thus, they are far superior to all life in the ST universe!

I really doubt that these replicators would be that much superior to the Borg, considering Human Stargate technology is far inferior to Human Star Trek technology, because what I've seen, Stargate takes place in something like a modern day Earth.

Since the Borg's biggest strength is adaptation, these Replicators might put a dent in the Collective, but the Borg would find weaknesses and either assimilate or destroy the Replicators.

As the Borg Queen said to Data in First Contact: "It's only a matter of time."

But anyway, actually commenting on the pic (Which is what these comments are really for, not Verses debates), there could be more action, but it's pretty cool.

It's a waste of time for the Reps to use a new orleans against a Gal.

And ya, we settled the Borg vs. Rep debate already. And if I remember correctly, most folks agreed that the Borg would win, because they can process data faster. Processing power = adaptation speed.

Though some also liked the idea that the Borg and the Reps would "fuse".
(What am I talking about? http://bridgecommander.filefront.com/potd/85349 )
There I've opened pandora's box. But I advise anyone that REALLY wants to flame-debate it to take it to the forums.

Anyway I'm not having this discussion again... Idk... the tone for the topic feels different this time for some reason...

Still a fairly decent pic. 7/10

I hate ST-SG Mixes, and the picture is bad too.
I think there is a to big area covered with ships, and there is not even a good background. Sorry, 2/10

10/10 for having replicators. Next time, show replicators killing borg.

Oh be quiet. You're the same guy that contridicted himself in the potd, saying that reps do not adapt. Then a few moments later in the same post, said that they did.

Logically, all things considered, the Reps would lose.

But I don't care, I still think think the Reps are cooler anyway. lol

This is a pretty neat debate i think. I agree with Mjay also about the replicators being very cool.

It would be a very tough battle, maybe only a little less tough than the Borg's war with Species 8472.

The replicators eat, indeed, and absorb energy. Thus Borg energy weapons would not be effective...at least for a while. And yes they replicate tenfold, creating trillions of little minds that work as a hive.

HOWEVER, we're forgetting one thing...shields do not block just energy weapons, they block solid objects as well: I.E. deflector shields. Each borg drone has individual shield emitters, which create localized gravitational distortions around them to block solid objects. Every borg ship has a shield matrix which the Replicators would not be able to penetrate.

Yes replicators do absorb energy when fired upon, but a gravitationally based shield system is a mere distortion. The energy to be absorbed is from the ship itself, inside the shield bubble.

Say the replicators do penetrate the shields though. I believe they would eat through the hull very efficiently, however it would take a while because the exterior of all borg hulls regenerate much in the same way as replicators do, and this would slow the replicators down considerably. Considering this, the borg would have ample time to perform scan after scan and come up with at LEAST a partial ability to resist them. I believe they would quickly figure out that Replicators absorb energy thus rendering their energy weapons ineffective (which each drone carries, usually in a wrist attachment, and yes it can be removed as in the TNG eppie Descent parts one and two.)

The borg have assmiliated thousands of species, and undoubtedly they are knowlegable about projectile weapons: I.E. the projectile weapon that Exri Dax used in an episode of DS9. This would most likely be the weapon of choice on a drone and on the exterior of the ship as well after anylization of the Replicators. This model also came complete with a mini transporter that transported the bullet to within inches of the targert. The Replicators would not even touch the drones before they would be blasted away.

This leads me to my nex t point: TRANSPORTERS. They would be able to transport any Replicators regardless of the assimilation technique they use off the ship. Simple as that. BY CHANCE THEY CANT: borg technology REPLICATES TOO to in the form of regeneration as shown the the ST: Enterprise eppie where drones from the movie First Contact were frozen in ice and discovered. The Enterprise was almost assimilated (BTW how the eff did Phlox NOT TURN INTO A DRONE???????? ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.).

Say that even with ALL OF THIS, the Replicators SOMEHOW manage to increase their at first meager numbers VS the borgs 8,472 (that we know of) CIVILIZATIONS (which means multiply 8,472 by however the total populations of every world. That's like a ga-jillion minds yo.). Say they somehow are able to pass through a gravitationally based shield system. Say they somehow get lucky. The ENTIRE COLLECTIVE now knows about it. The Cube/Sphere/Queen Vessel/whatever will undoubtedly be met up with a borg armada, be disabled, where it will be TRACTORED INTO A SUN or black hole, or some s*** like that.

The replicators, albeit a really cool idea, would not really stand a chance beyond one cube, if they're lucky.

Also, stargate technology is FAR superior to Federation M/A war reactors. It is essentially a micro wormhole. It's also not human technology, it's Atlantian technology. In addition, the FTL drives that power SG-1 ships is also far more advanced, being able to travel intergalactic distances as opposed to a M/A war reactors interstellar distances. In that resepect SG-1 wins. But the reps still lose.

Sorry. 10/10 for the pic though!
