Posts: 47 | "CAPTAIN" ezri dax? granted Ive not read the novels, but everyone on DS9 thought that she was to young to even have the dax symbiont and even if we had lost that many captains and ships during the dominion wars, she would NOT have made captain THAT fast!! but a good standard shot tho! a solid 7/10 from me!! |

Posts: 731 | Rustynx is right. Being in one division doesn't mean that you cannot command a starship or change divisions. Dr Crusher also commanded the Enterprise on a few occassions...before Worf, Jadzia commanded the Defiant many times. Data, also not a command officer, commanded the Enterprise many times and was the 2nd officer.

Posts: 53 | Extremely nice. Is this is same model that came out earlier this week? It looks better.
Also, Dax went on the command-track after an incident a few months after the Dominion War ended. She ended up in command of the Defiant, and from that moment on, the true potential of the Dax symbiont took over so she decided to go Command. It wasn't until 5 years later that she was on the Aventine where, once again, she was forced to take command after both the First Officer and Captain were killed in battle against the Borg.
She was a lieutenant aboard DS9, so it would make sense to be a Lt. Cmdr a few years later. In the novels, Dax truly grows as a character. What can you say? She's a Dax.
Anyway, sorry for the detour. 8/10 for the pic. |

Posts: 137 | Good pic and interesting timeline, but I believe command of starfleet's top of the line cruiser, the Vesta class, would go to a more experienced officer. Stil, I love the Vesta class design, 9/10! |

Posts: 565 | Captain Picard took command of the Stargazer when both CO and XO were killed in battle. Starfleet then gave him command of the Stargazer. He was only a Lt. Cmdr when that occured. If anything, the Ezri Dax situation is identical so it is a perfectly possible scenario.
