I never liked the NX-01. It always felt like too much of a rip off of the Akira. Now... if they want to do the next series with an ACTUAL Akira-class, that's fine by me. Maybe an Excelsior-refit? Prometheus?

Posts: 731 | @5, now the Prometheus is an ugly turd. Her only good angle is from directly above or below...any other angle, and she's looks rode hard and put up wet (there's a Texanism for you!).
The NX class, while resembling the Akira, was actually designed by a dude who didnt know what the Akira looked like...or so I've read. The NX isn't so bad looking a ship.

BTW, has it ever occurred to any of you that think this ship is the "Akiraprise" that maybe, just maybe, in the genre of the Star Trek universe/timeline - since this ship was designed way before the Akira that the Akira's design was inspired by the NX class? Maybe the writers meant it to be that way. Gee, what a novel concept. |
