| Uss Enterprise Phase2 [sfrd] (1.0) - File Description |
 |
Description:
In 2270 the USS Enterprise NCC1701 returns to Earth, a symbol of Starfleet and the Federation. In the early part of the year the Enterprise is put into space dock and a massive refit is undertaken. The ship is fitted with new pylons and more narrow rectangular nacelles; the neck is reinforced and fitted with a new torpedo launcher. The secondary hull is redesigned specifically the deflector dish and surrounding areas. The saucer is left largely untouched except for modification of the hull patterning.
This refit was completed in 2271 and left on training missions around the sol system, during this time Chief Engineer Montgomery Scott discovered many improvements that could have been made during the refit, by April 6th of that year the Enterprise returned to space dock and “Scotty” approached Starfleet Command and submitted a new proposal concerning the Constitution Class Refit. This proposal drastically improves on the current Phase 2 refit and it is up to Starfleet Command to decide on its viability.

Shake down cruise: Uss Enterprise NCC1701 Phase 2 refit.
During the initial shake down cruise of the Phase 2 Enterprise the vessel came under attack from a old Klingon D5 warbird almost 100 years old, the Enterprise was little troubled dealing with this enemy, however soon another Klingon ship attacked, designated as a K'tinga Class battle ship this vessel proved slightly more challenging subject but was also defeated with only very minor damage to the enterprise shields, though auxiliary power was need to bolster the shields.
After returning to Dry-dock for repair and resupply the Enterprise continued its shakedown cruise.
Warping to nearby system proves ships warp speed a significant improvement over the original configuration, however a Romulan Warbird of unknown specification attacks and while shields are significantly drained little damage is sustained by the ship. A second romulan ship decloaks and attacks this one also of unfamiliar design though appearing more advanced than the last... this one too is dispatched but the enterprise has sustained heavy damage, returning to Dry-dock our science officer indicates that the enemy vessels were irradiated with chroniton particles.
Once more the ship is repaired and proceeds to a position within the system due to unusual sensor readings....those readings prove to be the approach of a spherical vessel via a type of warp drive only theorized by the ships chief engineer....
.... The Enterprise has taken heavy damage.
We have managed to escape into warp, the enemy have attacked the Dry-dock though we managed to evacuate all personnel as we left the system. Long range sensors seem to show the vessel leaving the same way it came, thankfully heading away from federation space. Our damage is under control though it is obvious the Enterprise would be no match for that enemy, whomever they were.
