Uss Arsenal and Gladiator (1.0) - File Description  


Description:
The USS Gladiator is a design varient of the Defiant class, with stronger hull plating, weaponry, and shields, specifically designed as a support vessel for the Arsenal

History of Project Gladiator - Macdill Shipyards, Neptune orbit
Project Gladiator was origonally planned as a detachable support craft for the USS Arsenal. The origonal prototype was built alongside the second prototype of the USS Arsenal, was given stronger hull plating, stronger shields, better more efficant pulse weapons, and more of a torpedo loadout.

The Arsenal Class is Starfleets example of strength, armed with the most advanced weaponry, systems, and armour Starfleet has to offer.

History of Project Arsenal - Mac-Dill Shipyards, Neptune orbit
Project Arsenal has been in the works since before the Prometheus Class was built and put into fleet. Secretly, Starfleet used the Prometheus as a test bed for new systems, including the computer core and systems and bridge module, that were to be placed on the new Arsenal class. She is designated as one of 4 borg hunter vessels.
When the initial prototype was built in 2372, a new warp core was placed in the prototype as a means to power the large ship (originally Excalibur Class size) at Red alert without draining secondary systems, reserves, and batteries. However, shortly after powering the expiremental warp core up for testing, a fault in the cooling system caused a breach and the ship and drydock was lost with all hands, and the project was mothballed.

Readme File:
Installation:
Just copy and paste all files in your BC Directory, and overwrite when nessicary
you need to create a plug via bcut or whichever plugin tool you have

Known Bugs:
Theres a MINOR bug where the ship dosnt damage NATURALLY, this isnt a case where polys just randomly dissapear, it DOES DAMAGE NORMALLY ON 98% of the ship.
no matter how many times i went over the areas in question, i could NOT find anything wrong with the mesh in those areas, therefore it has been deemed..... whatever.
(its my FIRST High Poly Mesh For BC.... get off my back ok? I TRIED, IT LOOKS GOOD, I AINT PERFECT!!!!!! O_o )

Theres also the classic MVAM bug where you loose shields if your not in red alert

Depending on your system, the MVAM sequence may take awhile to load because of the texture sizes

Nice concept but the textures are a little bland (And somewhat cartoonish) which really lets it down I think with better textures you'll have a real winner on your hands 8 / 10. Still good work though.

dont let the pics fool you, the ONLY reason they look blurry in the screenies is i cant run 2048 textures, wich is the resolution of the textures smile

big grin i say the Gladiator itself looks pretty badass but the nacell pattern does remind me of the 4 nacelled pattern on the Prometheus other than that the ship itself looks awsome and very badass big grin.Two Thumbs Up!

i tried out your ships and i have to say great job... powerful but not too powerful.
and very good manoeuvring.

the textures could be crisper but it dont bother me that much... i know how difficult texturing is.

i have noticed that the pulse weapons (?) on the gladiator dont work.

conclusion: i like it great ship smile

She has kickass HP, and Gladiator is nice too. the alpha strike is pretty menacing, seeing that huge volley of photons and quantums heading at the enemy is awesome.

never tried to texture anything so i cant really criticize, the mesh and hardpoints are awesome (although i will never understand why the aft of ships are always the least defended)
my gladiator also cant seem to fire her pulse weapons
in the history you said the project was mothballed....so perhaps Section 31 picked up where the federation proper left off?
