U.S.S. Angelwings - File Description  


Description:
The USS Angelwings was originally intended to do it's runs as a prototype ship, NX. But when Starfleet
noticed the threats of the Dominion and Borg, they skipped the experimental stage and built the ship,
working out the bugs as they went along. The ship itself, a Sovereign Class Vessel, is wondrous. It has
a very deep warp field, improved phasers, and Photon and Quantum torpedoes.

USS Angelwings NCC-97442 - Sovereign Class

Requirements: KM 0.9.1; CG/CR Sovereign Class Pack; SDT; MLeoDaalder's SubMenu mod

Description: Hey all! This is my first mod, so I hope you all like it. Since CG and CR said that
you don't need to ask permission to redo and re-release any part of the Sov Pack, I thought this would
be a perfect opportunity to start in my hopeful scripting and modding career.

Credits - Go mainly to CG and CR for the wonderful ship and class pack. Other credits go to me for the
new registry texture, and the bussard and deflector textures. Also to everyone else that had a part in
bringing out all the great mods that are connected to this ship. Great job, guys! You do not need to
ask my permission to re-release this mod in any way shape or form, but MAKE SURE you give the proper
credit.

Instructions:

1. Extract the files to a temporary directoy (e.g. "Temp 2")

2. Copy and paste the files "data" and "scripts" into you BC Root file

3. Before you play the game, go to "data/models" in your root file, and you should notice two files named "Shared Textures".
Find the one with only one file in it, namely "Sovereign". Copy and paste the files here ("angelbussard.tga", etc) into "
data/models/SharedTextures/Sovereign" and delete the old Shared Textures file. Now start the game and you should see it in
Named Ships/Sovereign. If you don't do this the new textures won't show up and you'll have a normal looking Sovereign in
game. Enjoy!

lol all we need is a few decals add some spinners on the dish, maybe some100 yards super subs, and lcars halo screen replace with some tunner models in the backgrounds and add this to pimp 2.0 lol wink j/k
nice that blue almost make it seem stealth looking too dl

I seem to be having problems with this... I moved the shared textures into the organial like the readme said and deleted the new shared textures but the Angelwings still looks stock and I got no icon for the ship at all

Apparently you didn't read it closely enough. You must move the textures in the "Shared Textures/Sovereign" that came with the file into "SharedTextures/Sovereign", and then delete the one that came with it.

This is all because of a typo on my part. If you look carefully, the SharedTextures file that you already have does not have a space between "Shared" and "Textures". I put a space. So, it didn't overwrite properly. I had the same problem during the test on my laptop.

Please read the readme carefully, people.

EDIT: Sorry about that. I didn't read you post clearly. Did you put it into "SharedTextures/Sovereign" or just "SharedTextures"? It must go into "SharedTextures/Sovereign".

I put it into the "SharedTextures/Sovereign" just like you said, I read the readme several times and then I deleted the new SharedTextures folder that was created, but there's no change, I'm not sure whats wrong, I see the AngelWings files in there with the others (Imperial, EnterpriseD, etc)

This is a stupid question, but did you move every .tga file from the "SharedTextures/Sovereign" that came with this file?

Here's what you do, just to try to fix this. Do a search of your BC Root File (should be C:/Program Files/Activision/Bridge Commander), and search for "Angelwings" (without the quotations, of course). Delete every file you come across that has "Angelwings" in it, and then delete all the new textures that came with the file in "SharedTextures/Sovereign". Un-zip the file again (if you still have it) to a Temporary directory like Temp 2, and then go into "data/Models" and rename "Shared Textures" to "SharedTextures". Now place the data and scripts file into your directory and it should show up in game.

If this doesn't work then I have no idea what to do. About the icon, I winged this. I didn't know how to make a correct icon so I just took a picture of the ship and made it the size of the other icons. It didn't work.... So, if you want an Icon, go into "scripts/Custom/Ships" and open up Angelwings.py. You'll see this:

abbrev = 'Angelwings'
iconName = 'Angelwings'

Next to "iconName" put Sovereign in the little quotation marks where Angelwings was. This will give you the Sovereign's icon picture.

Hope it works for you.

Not bad; this is not a re-texture, it's a texture-edit, as in recoloring the deflector, impulse engines, grilles, bussards, and the stripes on the ship's hull as well as making a new registry for the ship. The registry looks pretty decent.

The registry thing. I have not been able to figure out how they make the really good registries. I can make decent ones, as you said. I can admit that they're only decent. But I am dying to know how they do it. Like the registries on the SNS Galaxy and SNS Akira.
