SFP XCA Lost Era Heavy Cruiser (update alert sun mar 30) (V1.0) - File Description  


Description:
This ship is an intermediate between the Excelcior era and what would be considered Ambassador era or Early TNG. The ship has TMP styling and TNG styling mixed together to give you an Excelcior like vessel with modern looking nacelles and early phaserbank technology. The ship also can dispense an impressive spread of torpedoes. The Ship is roughly the same size as an Excelcior, and with phaser output set at 650 points, well behind the Ambassador class



Uopdate: This file has been udpated. Those of you who have already downloaded this need to add SFPXCA to your game, and ignore the other 2 py and model folders named XCA and SFPExcelcior. I simply updated the rar file and forgot to removed the extra files, hence the large file size. YOU DON'T NEED TO REDOWNLAOD.
Those who download from now on will have only the correct files in the rar and should add it to your game as normal.

The XCA is a post excelcior-B but Pre-ambassador vessel. Due to the realativley untrusted phaserbank, this ship was given a larger battery of torpedo tubes to compensate. Phaserbanks turned out to be a worth while technological stem, even if they didn't provide much in the way of a boost in overall performance. They did improve relaiability and have better heat dissapation than the old turret modules. They could also be aimed faster and have a wider angle of fire. Several other technological stesm are visable on this ship, including advanced defelctors, and a significant step up in warp nacelles.

The ship is armed with 16 small phaserbanks in various locations, 4 fwd torpedo tubes and 2 aft.

Posts: 279 		I'd also like to see this baby with an Ambassador style deflector dish...or perhaps an early prototype version of it and make it the same color as the dish for the first showing of the refit Enterprise when it was still in space dock.

Posts: 176 		Well I can finally mothball my U1Excalibur now and update it with the USS Philadelphia. these vessels are few and far between. Rock
FYI: I always catagorize my vessels and repackage them with the custom/ship script . Thats how I noticed that you provided 2 working copies the XCA and SFPXCA. The only difference that I could tell at a glance was in the shield strength of the hardpoints. You also included the FCA ship script and SFP Excelsior Hardpoint.(?). Just thought you'd like to know.

Posts: 70 		Some don't have gafy textures for every map and I wont bother releasing the old style, however if people on my team want to help fix them as they've done with some of the lighting and then phaser bank upgrades maybe that will be possible. Why don't you send me the abraxes so I can make sure we are talking about the same ship (or a link to it) and I'll see what I can do. The DN and 3 versions of 4 nacelled BB are next.
