Runabout Bridges Pack (1.5) - File Description  


Description:
Final version of runabout bridges pack with improved red alert states and minor fix for non-KM compatibility. If already installed, this will simply overwrite.

Runabout shuttle bridges as seen in DS9. Two versions which can be installed as separate bridges:

1. Late seasons version with tactical standing floor console and transporter room at rear.
2. Early seasons version with transporter in main cabin.

DESCRIPTION
-------------

Runabout shuttle bridges as seen in DS9. Although a revamp of BR32 TypeIX Bridge rather than a whole new mesh, I have tried to remodel and texture the two bridges as closely to screencaps where possible.

Comes in two versions which can be installed as separate bridges:

1. Late seasons version with tactical standing floor console and transporter room at rear.
2. Early seasons version with transporter in main cabin.

Full crew will install by default, with Saffi/XO off-bridge but accessible via F3 key. There are alternative scripts and anims if you just want a two-man version (player and Kiska) and crew off-bridge. Don't forget to backup original scripts before making any replacements.

Bridges have animated consoles and red alert lights.

Technical Details
-----------------
Tested with BC version 1.1 with Kobayashi Maru 1.0. Should work on non-KM mods.


Known Bugs
----------
Usual shuttle bugs: possible screen distortion if too close to viewscreen, silent off-bridge Saffi.
If transport to another bridge from silent-crew mode, new bridge will also be silent. No fix at present.

Please report any additional bugs and feedback to Lurok91 via BCC.


Install instructions
--------------------

1 Drag and copy the folders from the ZIP into your main BC directory
2 This should not ask to overwrite anything (if it does, proceed anyway) and will install as separate bridges (RunaboutEarly or RunaboutLate in bridge menu scroller)

thats funny, the other day i was watching ds9, and i was like, we need runabout bridges, and what do u know, i get on here and see runabout bridges, lol thanks man! ill coment after i play them!

Something is bothering me about the front windows...they don't look slanted outward enough, or wide enough.

Thanks Nero Two Thumbs Up! I agree windows could be better, but it is what it is for now. Was just commenting that would be nice after all work Baz and I put into bridges to give something to BC community to get some positive feedback in return. People are all ready to pitch in here to ***** about people's PoTD but no time to spur us on to better work. Go figure Roll Eyes (sarcastic)

Why is that always the response whenever someone offers up an honest critique? Maybe it's just that everyone is gunshy at the OTHER people who REALLY trash the modders work.

No, Nero91, I cannot make a better Runabout set. I can't even begin to try. I'm ecstatic that it was made. Has it ever crossed your mind at any point that honest feedback has been what has improved BC modding?

I'm tired of getting flack for being honest... mad

Whether or not you meant to nitpick is besides the point - the way you offered your criticism came off nitpicky. You only decided to note that the windows weren't slanted enough - something that is hardly noticeable in game - and didn't find any positives or express any gratitude in the fact that now you have a Runabout set to play with. You just cried about the windows. Maybe if you took the time to learn how to contribute to this community you would understand why people get so *****ed about nitpicking...Roll Eyes (sarcastic)

Maybe if the only feedback ever offered was "oh this is just great! It's perfect" then we would still be playing with p81 Connies. It was great in its time, but could be improved.

I think you were nitpicky on what you read. I could have said that the mod was useless because it was just plain ugly...that would be trashing the mod and being nitpicky. That's not what I believe. Just pointing out something is not shaped right is not nitpicky. It would be like pointing out that a connie model had an oval shaped saucer. It doesn't make it unplayable, but it is a glaring issue.

Lurok91, I apologize if I offended you by offering my honest feedback. This mod is very well done, but in my opinion is not as good as your other shuttle bridges. However, the attention to detail is great. Thank you for your contribution. Beer! Beer!

Just to make perfectly clear, my criticisms never personally directed towards you but towards the BCF community in general. I think you make perfectly valid points and have already agreed with you about the critique of the windows. In fact I wish more people did display your critical honesty rather than the apathy that seems to exist at present. Even negative criticism is better than none at all, lol. But it should be tempered with praise where due also, and not simply hollow praise. No good blowing smoke where sun don't shine Roll Eyes (sarcastic) If people took time to write good and bad points at least modders would have something to work from to improve their game. But at moment get very little feedback. And a little thanks doesn't go amiss either smile So I hope we're cool. And thanks for your comments Two Thumbs Up!
