Description:
"Things go boom...Bright lights...yawn"
If that’s your judgment of this mod, then I’m sorry to inform you, but you are wrong. This is NanoFX 2.0. Even though it may be beta, but it still is the newest version out there. New warp effects are added, such as warp speed control. Also this mod will dramatically enhance the stock effects. In change giving you a whole new perception to the word “explosion”.

NanoFX 2.0 BETA

Thank you for Downloading NanoFX 2.0 BETA
NanoFX will enhance your BC Game with new or improved visual effects instead of the stock effects. Please enjoy and look forward to future NanoFX additions.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bridge Commander Retail Game
- BCMI .NET
- 50 Megabytes of Free Hard Drive Space

Installation:

1. Double Click on the BC-Mod File
2. In the game, click on the “Configure” button
3. Click on the “Mutators” button
4. Turn on NanoFX 2.0 to enable the effects in game
5. Click on NanoFX Config to configure NanoFX to your preferences

At least I will be able to see my warp flashes when I test them!

Anything that gives me more control over more areas of the ship is great. Like the multiwarp speed bit. And the weapons flash sounds fantastic.

NanoFX 2.0 has not been testing with other Mutators

If you are having problems, Select just NanoFX 2.0 as your Mutator and see if you can get into QB
Then if you can, Select one mutator in addition to NanoFX, one at a time and enter QB until you find which one is causing the Conflict

So far it looks like ATP2 and NanoFX 2.0 are not compatible.... so you'll have to use one or the other for now until ATP3 is released

HOLY MOD ALMIGHTY!!!! This is going to make Bridge Commander feel like a break through, state of the art game!!! I never seen any other game such as this go through so much change through mods. The actuall quality, depth, and feel of this game has now been completey re-written from when it came out of the box. This mod should keep Bridge Commander in stores for eternity!!! If you're not a Star Trek fan, this mod will definately make you into one!

I have to say that this is probably the single greatest mod I have EVER seen for BC. Simply outstanding. My only gripe are the flashes when you fire torpedoes or pulses.

But in this instance who cares!!!!
I dont care if you only have a 56k modem....
You MUST download this!

If you want to fix that...... Go to the CG Sovy Model Folder, find the ID Textures like Sovereign.tga

rename it to Soverign_glow.tga

any ID Textures now need the _glow suffix in the file name

Second, yes it does work with the Enemie's of Life mod expansion. (If that is the one you're refering to).

I noticed that there are a few problems whne you put Nano FX 2.0 with the bc exp.

but................


No worry's I have sent an email to nano Asking him if the expansion team and him create a sort of fix patch to make the to mods work 100% perfect together.

Lets have some constructive critism on the Sounds so Wes doesn't kick all your butts!

I think the sounds are great! But Wes always surprises me with even better sounds every time he gives me updates!

something in the mod appears to be messing with the loading of music; the main menu music plays throughout quick battle mode now, no matter what. Any ideas for a quick fix?

Well since I'm just impatient and all, I figured out what the problem was and fixed it myself. It turns out that there is an extra comment in front of the SetupMusic(pGame) command that was disabling the music engine; removing it is quick, painless, and restores it to normal. Here's hoping the author fixes this little prob in the next release... =)

dude - look harder... i promise a search button is there... wink i can email you a screenshot if you'd like... but to simply answer your question, no this is not compatible with SP as yet... you can still have the mod, and play SP with the nanofx mutator turned off, however... - jb76

ok, so I used my tactical map to see what damage i did to a starbase, when it goes through the planet and i see what appears to be a sun! I decided to explore this further, so I turned god mode on and entered the planet and... eek! A PLANETS CORE! but thats not all folks! when i penetrated the core i found out ther was what appeared to be an INNER CORE TOO!!! eek!

Good work Nanobyte! you made an unintentional mod too, Planet cores! looks like those atmospheres needed real planetary phisics to work properly.

If u want to se for urself, slap on ur god modes and penetrate a planet Rock

I've installed this mod on a fresh install of Bridge Commander, then the patch, then BCMI.net, and then this mod. And now Single Player won't work. Any ideas?

Single player is usualy very choppy with NANOFX however I believe there is a fix for it floating around here somewhere. Otherwise id advise turning nano off and going stock again for sp.... dreaded thought yes.
Mind I have KM installed an the single player WILL work however it crashes ALOT so its best to save very very often.

No, NanoFX doesn't work for SP. I think someone once made a mod that allowed you to. However, I think the problem was you can play as long as you don't stop. Once you load the saved game, it'll crash. Don't trust me 100% on this since I'm not sure. I just know the mod allowed NanoFX to work in SP.

For me, my solution was to have a backup of the scripts folder from the patched version of Bridge Commander while I have another scripts folder for the heavily modded version. That way, I can play SP whenever I feel like it.

Anyways, in short, you can't play SP with NanoFX.

When ever i load this and enter the game the mouse just showes up and nothing happens. i press the ~` key and trpe help it says the one of the files is corrupted and it 'loses' focus and the game crashes. anyone know what happens and how the unload this modfrown

Weird. Did you have any mods installed prior to installing NanoFX? If you didn't, it would be easier to reinstall the game. I think NanoFX only works when you have a clean install of BC with the patch and foundation. If that doesn't work, try consulting the forums.

by the way i do have alot of other mods if i cut and pasted the current data then reinstalled the game and it didn't work again could i return the orriganal data back to the BC folder?

Lol @ 68. NanoFX has been out of Beta for ages mate. NanoFX2.0 is what is now in Beta testing, which DOES speak well. In fact, the original NanoFX mod revolutionised my BC game. After I installed it so I could run some of the mods I wanted, I found it to completely update the game, enough so I could start playing it again - REVAMP, RELOAD, REPLAY.

NanoFX is possibly the best mod I have installed and has turned BC modding into a sorta home project of mine. Next time, try downloading the file before you comment on its contents, Mahalamus; I recommend Nanobyte's incredible work to anyone. Keep it up, mate - I owe you a Beer! Beer!.

I have Vista 64x and I can't get the mutator menu to show the nanofx menu. If anyone would be willing to email me a list of what I need to install and in what order to install them so I can set up my computer to use these mods. I have BCMI and BCMP and sub menu. I am kinda new to this never modded this game before. I want to use the defiant and delta flyer but when I use them there's just a large white light around it. I have looked online for help and it says that it needs to be configured but I don't have the configure menu. If someone wants to help me. My email is vinaz225 at gmail.com

Definitely confusing, I do all you ask for but when I start up BC, the screen just gone black with the BC arrow cursor. Even I waited and waited for an hour, the screen is still blank, with the BC arrow cursor. Anyone help?

Copy that. I think it's because of other mutators ... butt is it okay to patch to 1.1 first before installing BCMI.net and then NFX2 or just 1.0 clean version, then BCMI.net and then NFX2?

I downloaded the mod and when ever i try to open bc the screen goes black with only the mouse , ive tried reinstalling the game but it didnt work has anyone found a solution to this problem that was first reported in 12-26-2007

You'll need to ask at the BCC forums, the comments aren't the place for tech support and nobody really looks at them for older mods anyways...

hey guys im gonna post this on the forum threads as well but:

"HTTP 403 FORBIDDEN"

"The website declined to show the webpage"
"Most likely causes: you are not logged in or do not have permission to view this webpage"

ive never before had this and ive reloaded the page several times. just before it i downlaoded djcubes scroll pack for mutators. that didnt require me to log in etc.
i was just wondering has nanoFX been banned and if so why is i still on the filefront downloads?

Nanofx --- ! It will never work in sp campaign mode! ----------- ! Its nice to have a fix for it though but would be especially nice if that fix had directions. I know maybe we can use our ESP to figure out where all the files go!!????@@@@

well ya - it is commonly known fact that practically all mods will not work in single player... and it isn't anyone else's fault but your own if you don't know how to install a mod...
perhaps if your attitude wasnt so negative and rude, people might be inclined to help you; but i doubt you'll find anyone willing to help you now... so good luck! lol

Even with the sp fix installed it fails. Nanofx can only be used in QB or MP but quick battles get old as does multiplayer as there is nothing to do but fly around and shoot? Does not take long to get bored with that.
