Description:
What began as a project to re-do the hardpoint and a visual change for the Galor has been scaled back dramatically due to the disaster of the original release. This is what became of those efforts. I've actually been holding it back, thinking it was just too slight to warrant release.

This is a minor visual modification to the 9of9 Galor. Since that ship already uses the one warp-engine and two impulse-engine design I wanted to do in it's hardpoint, all this mod does is make it a tad more obvious.

An experimental hardpoint is present, but will not overwrite the existing one. Enjoy!

Background/Commentary
It has always puzzled me why the Cardassians have relied on the Galor-class vessel for so long. While the space-frame is solidly dependable, good for extended service and versatility in fleet operations, the Galor is nothing that anyone would want to be caught having to fight in more than briefly. It repairs very slowly, has about as much firepower as a monkey flinging poo, and steers like a brick with a rocket booster crazy-glued to the arse-end.

The most obvious reason for this is due to the design's configuration not making much sense, at least, to me. Federation, Klingon, Romulan, even Dominion vessels have designs that simply make sense for their fleet roles. This is not said to disparage Cardassian ship designers as the design itself is quite solid. However, given the Galor's relative weakness to other ships, the configuration of various internals is nothing short of a disaster, and explains a great deal of Cardassia's issues on the battlefield.

Changes
None. This file is a small visual change only and thus should be fully compatible with the 9of9 Galor class exactly as it is. The experimental hardpoint is part of a balancing effort I'm playing with, but against most other ships will not last very long at all. So should you want to give it a try, I would suggest pitting it against itself for the time being. This hardpoint should also be fully compatible with the original 9of9 Galor.

Installation
Installation of this ship is a standard drag and drop affair, and will overwrite the galor2_glow images for in the low, medium and high textures. The experimental hardpoint will be located in the hardpoint folder as galor.py.bak

Note
Wine users as usual should keep an eye on mixed case errors. There are no known bugs, and testing was more lengthy over the old version. If you have a file named "galor.py.bak" in your hardpoints file, remove it or otherwise back it up first.

I still have the original Ghemor download. I've had a look myself and had people I know look at the pieces as well, and we can't figure out where the glitch is.

I hope this one works allright for you.

I'm not sure myself. When the torpedoes suddenly start coming from your tail but firing in the right direction, you know something's up. I quit banging my head against that wall though. It's turned into the Rubik's Cube of BC Roll Eyes (sarcastic)

okay, I've got it working (finally). there's some stuff that needs rearranged in the packaging and in the hardpoint. it was a simple goof, the kind I still make myself.

meanwhile, I'm impressed. PM me at BC-Central.
